HOW TO CHOOSE A HIGH QUALITY SALT LAMP.
If you are interested in adding a salt lamp to your home, choose ones with these features for best quality:
Orange / Pink Color – The darker the salt the richer it is in minerals and is therefore better in quality.
Size – The bigger the salt lamp, the bigger the affect. Smaller lamps are typically much less expensive, so it is recommended to keep 1 or 2 in smaller rooms and 2 or 3 in larger rooms of our home.
Rough Surface – The surface area of a salt lamp determines its "hygroscopic" potential. Rougher lamps have a higher surface area than smooth and polished lamps and are more effective at improving air quality. In my opinion, they also look better and are a great decoration for most rooms.
Bulb – The "hygroscopic" benefits are due to the salt and heat together so it is important to use a heat-producing bulb. LED bulbs are not recommended.
SHAPE AND PRICE RANGE.
Currently we only have three different shapes available in out store; natural, fire bowl and round shape. And the price range of each type is different depending on the size and the weight of the salt chunks.
HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR HIMALAYAN SALT LAMP.
To clean your Himalayan Salt Lamp, switch lamp off and wipe it with a dry cloth or a slightly damp sponge.
Leave your salt lamp on wherever possible as the heat from the light bulb will prevent the lamp absorbing moisture. (Recommended to leave it on 24/7)
If the salt lamp gets wet, leave it in strong sunlight for 4 to 5 hours and then brush off any excess crystals.
When your salt lamp is not going to be used for a long period of time, disconnect your power cable and remove the power cable from the lamp, and store the salt lamp and base in a plastic bag to keep it airtight. This will help prevent the lamp absorbing moisture.
In humid conditions or areas we recommend placing your lamp onto a small tray or dish in the rare case the lamp pools water.
